For Father's Day this year we are planning a different type of community event.

Dadventure is being held on Saturday 1 September at Warnbro Community Church. It is an event for Dads and their children to receive some fathering tips, enjoy a delicious meal (pig on a spit) and a drink, and some time competing against each other with fun games and challenges (e.g. corn hole, shooting gallery, mini golf ladder golf, Finska and lots more).

Bring your Dad or bring your kid(s) as it is going to a lot of fun and really worthwhile. Doors open at 4.45pm and the event commences at 5.00pm sharp. The event will finish by 7.30pm.

When booking your ticket you will need to choose your preferred time to receive your dinner.

The City of Rockingham has provided a grant to help pay some of the costs for the guest speaker and games. The $10 cost per person will cover the food and drinks. You will also receive a booklet from the Fathering Project with some great tips for Dads.

This year is the 18th Perth Men’s Convention.

Gary Millar, Principal of Queensland Theological College, pastor and author will be speaking to us from the book of Jeremiah, where the need for courage was critical; courage to be who God was calling his people to be while all those around were taking a different path. 

In other words, the same courage we need every day. 

Come and join with over 500 men as we hear God’s word read and taught from, sing God’s praises, be encouraged with three new Toolbox sessions, listen to book reviews, browse the bookstall and spend time together with men from across Perth and WA.

Following the success of previous courses an additional course is being held on Saturday 11 August from 9.00am to 12.00pm here at the church. 

The course will cover topics such as leading with your values, trust and mindset and will help you at work and home.

We invite all who are willing to gather with us on Monday the 2nd of July from 7:30-8:30 PM for a time of corporate prayer. 

We want to take some time to give God thanks for his love and mercy while also lifting one another up in a time of encouragement. 

No sign up is needed, just show up and join us as we seek the Lord together. 

This Sunday we will be spending some time talking about our shared calling as ministers of the Gospel. 

During this conversation, we will hear more about how we are doing as a church body as we seek to fulfill our mission and purpose given to us by Jesus Christ. 

Specifically, we will be talking about where we would like to be heading as a church family and what it will take of all of us to achieve these mission focused goals.

Greg Ross has a new place right on the river in South Yunderup (just up the road to where we kayaked last year) and he is kindly hosting us for another Men's event. Join other blokes for breakfast, some great discussion and a mouth watering hot beef roll with gravy. No entry fee, but donations to Greg for food and fuel for boat owners will be greatly appreciated.
